Artist Statement

My style is constantly evolving as I explore different techniques, colours and mediums; however there is always an underlying organic tone and texture to my work expressed through the use of mixed media.

Inspiration for my painting develops largely through the influences of nature's forms and colours, the landscape, cultural imagery and how humanity relates to the environment. I can't paint without music; it sets the tone for my work and gets my creative juices flowing.

My work is usually conceptual; probably a leftover from my advertising days where I was trained to visualise. As a result themes for my exhibitions - including 'Rocks at the Rocks', 'Rockpeople', 'Earth Mother', 'Vessels' and 'As Female' - tend to emerge from each other linking my creative journey.
