2002 - Rocks at the Rocks

ASN Gallery, The Rocks, February, 2002

My first series of work produced for the inaugural EDGE Group exhibition at the ASN Gallery in the Rocks under teacher and mentor Annette Pringle. The exhibition was opened by the director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Elizabeth Macgregor. Influenced by the fantastic and historic location, I decided to express my lifelong fascination with rocks. It is their varied shapes, unique colours and configurations, perfection and irregularities that inspire me. These works reflect the pacific imagery of New Zealand so close to my heart, but also express the mood and colours I am discovering in the striking Australian landscape.
